Our Lord God is Omniscient, which means He is ALL-KNOWING. Nothing is hidden from Him. We are never alone. At every place, at every time, in every circumstance, God is here. He knows our fears, our weaknesses, and our joys. He knows our desires and our needs, even when we ourselves don’t know them. He knows us better than we know ourselves.
He knows our every thought, even before we speak them. [Psalm 139:4.] “For you, you only, know the hearts of all the children of mankind” (1 Kings 8:39). The first prayer of the apostles in Acts 1:24 says, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart…”
Many times, in the Gospels, Jesus knew the thoughts of those He was speaking to. [Matt. 9:4; 12:25; Luke 6:8]. He knew about people’s lives before He even met them. When He met the Samaritan woman at the water well at Sychar, He said to her, “The fact is you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband.” [John 4:18]. He also told His disciples that their friend Lazarus was dead, although He was over 40 kms. away from Lazarus’s home [John 11:11-15.] He knew Nathanael before ever meeting him, for He knew his heart. [John 1:47-48]. How much more He knows us too as He sits at the right hand of Father God, interceding for us.
Nothing is too difficult for our omniscient God! We can rest secure in Him, knowing that He promises to never fail us provided we live in and for Him. God knows you and me. He places His seal upon us and draws us to His love in Jesus Christ. Eph. 1:3-6 states – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms. For He CHOSE US in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons/daughters through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One. [Jesus]
1 John 3:20 comforts us that, “whenever our heart convicts us [in guilt]; God is greater than our heart and He knows all things [nothing is hidden from Him because we are in His hands.] AMP version. Psalm 139 confirms all of God’s “Omni’s,” that He is all-powerful, ever- present and all-knowing.
Precious Abba Father God, I am in awe at Your greatness, Your holiness, and Your ability to see and know all things and be present in everything. What a comfort and security to have the knowledge that You are always with me, that when I need someone or something, I need not go looking for others because You are right here by me, watching over me, helping me and loving me. Oh! What mercy and joy to be able to call You “Father.”
