TRUSTING GOD FOR OUR FINANCES or during difficulties.

Many people struggle to trust Christ for their daily living, especially when their
bank accounts are depleted, or when the bills are more than they can manage
to pay, or when they are in great need.

In Genesis 22 we read how God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his beloved
son of promise, Isaac. With a heavy heart, Abraham attempted to obey. Gen.
22:12 – 14 says that when Abraham was about to slay Isaac on the altar, God
said to him – “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to
him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me
your son, your only son.” Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a
ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a
burnt offering instead of his son. Abraham called that place “The LORD Will
Provide.” (Jehovah Jireh) And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the
LORD it will be provided.”

The BIGGEST provision Abba Father gave to each one of us, is when HE
sacrificed His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, on the agonizing Cross, to carry
the whole world’s sins – including your and my sins, so that each one of us can
have everlasting Life. Now, when we commit our lives totally to Him, we can
enjoy not only life in abundance, but also provision for all our needs.
So often we want more and more than we need, while Christ, in His infinite
mercy, provides less than our greed but more than we need. I can honestly
witness to the fact, that when my late husband died and I had to raise two
small children on my own while I was “living by faith” and serving God on a
large mission station, earning no money for many years; God always provided
EVERYTHING we NEEDED.

At times, Abba even gave me enough to enable me to share with those who had
so much less than I had. Paul wrote – “And God will generously provide ALL you
need. Then you will always have everything you need, and plenty left
over to share with others. As it is written: “They have freely scattered their
gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-9
Jesus gently teaches us about the Father´s tender care for His children. Look at
the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet
your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Matthew 6:26.

We might feel vulnerable or anxious when we face financial difficulties, but we
need to remember that God’s provision often comes in unexpected ways. He
provided manna in the wilderness for the hungry, wandering Israelites, and He
multiplied loaves and fishes for the multitudes. He can do the same for you and
for me. Our job is to trust Him, to be faithful, to work diligently, to spend wisely,
and to rely on His sovereign care over us. His faithfulness is our security.

Loving Jehovah Jireh, please forgive me when I become anxious even when you
tell me; “Do not be anxious about anything, but in EVERY situation, by prayer
and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Phil. 4:6 AND
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or
about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body
more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much
more valuable than they?” – Matt. 6:25 + 26. Thank You that I can trust You for
providing for my big and small needs, because You are my Abba, my Father,
who loves me, and provides for me more than any earthly person ever could. I
adore and worship You, Amen.
