”We have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not seem to come from us.
”We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4:7-9
This treasure is the life of God in us, in earthen vessels, that is, in weak and imperfect people. The exceeding great power is the Holy Spirit, who comes from God, not from us.
We are hard pressed in every way, but not at a dead end, because Jesus is with us and He always has the power to lead us forward!
We are helpless, but not hopeless, for our hope is in Almighty God!
We are sometimes persecuted, but never abandoned, because the Father has said, ”I will never leave you nor forsake you!”
We may also be struck down, but not destroyed, because God’s own have eternal life, and nothing that is of God can be destroyed!
