It is time to say goodbye to the Webforwomen website.
Its work has been a blessing, and many women have experienced encouragement through it.
In Isaiah, chapter 41, verses 4–7, we find a remarkable description of cooperation.
Verse 4 says: “Who has done this and carried it out?” The answer is found in the same verse: “He who calls forth the generations from the beginning: I, the Lord—with the first of them and with the last—I am he.”
The Lord is the supreme overseer of all work and its accomplishment. He is the eternal God, who has existed from the beginning and who has also planned this shared effort of ours as women.
Verse 6 says: “They help each other and say to one another, ‘Be strong!’” Faithfulness and strength have been needed in carrying out this work.
My attention is especially drawn to Myrtle Grimm-Turunen’s faithful writing. She began preparing weekly devotional writings for the Donne Europee website. Exactly five years ago, in September 2021, we published our first devotional in English.
Verse 7 describes how everyone does their part:
“The metalworker encourages the goldsmith, and the one who smooths with the hammer encourages the one who strikes the anvil. He says of the welding, ‘It is good,’ and he strengthens it with nails so that it will not totter.”
This description includes four different professionals involved in the various stages of the work: the metalworker, the goldsmith, the one who smooths with the hammer, and the one who strikes the anvil.
The production of the Webforwomen website has required the help of one another: those who started the website, content creators, graphic designers, those who uploaded the texts to the website, those who shared them onward, and many others.
Often, we have been encouraged to say: “It is good!”
Now we have reached a situation in which the missionary organization Avainmedia has made new policy decisions, and the maintenance of various websites on its platform is coming to an end. We thank Avainmedia for the past years during which this website was hosted on the organization’s pages.
With gratitude, I think once more about the opportunity to be part of something important—to help carry out this work. I hope that we may continue our lives under God’s guidance and bring all His plans to completion.
Therefore: “Be strong!” (Isaiah 41:6)
