FIX YOUR MIND ABOVE

What is your thought life like? What occupies your mind mostly? Col. 3:2
says, “SET your minds on things above…”
We’re always thinking of something – the past, the present, the future,
outcomes, doubts, joys, questions etc. Our minds and thoughts are
always active. Proverbs 23:7 states, “As he (she) thinks in his/her heart,
so is he/she.” We can be victims of our own thought lives, thus is it most
important that we examine our mindset.

When the Bible teaches us to set/focus our minds on things above, it is
telling us to direct our hearts and thoughts on heavenly things, where
Jesus is. We must “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought
to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:5 Every thought must be under
the rulership of Christ, through Holy Spirit presence in us.

Rom. 12:2 teaches us – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but
be TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God’s will is— His good, pleasing, and
perfect will.” It is wonderful to know that when we are transformed, we
can allow the Holy Spirit to change and renew us daily. But it takes self-
control and self-discipline to consider and examine what, and how we
think.

Joshua 1:8 tells us to “Study this Book of Instruction Bible continually.
Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything
written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” The
secret of a healthy thought life is to study and meditate upon the Word of
God, the blessed Bible.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble,
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy— THINK ABOUT SUCH
THINGS.” Phil. 4:8

Precious Abba Father God, thank You for sending Jesus and the Holy Spirit
to show us Your ways, to teach us Your mind and heart and thoughts.
“You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your
thoughts toward us; none can compare with you!” Psalm 40:5 “May the
words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O
LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 Please help me to
drive out all negative, doubtful thoughts and focus on righteous, holy,
loving and pure thoughts. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
