If our security and peace is based on the worldly; wealth, relationships, our own power/understanding, success, or external things, then it is a false peace and security that will not last.
Psalm 73:20 ”As sleep flees when one awakes, so when you arise, O Lord, you destroy their falsehood.”
No matter how secure our lives may be from a worldly perspective, if we were not Jesus’ own, our lives would only be based on a false image of security.
And on the other hand; no matter how poor and humble and difficult our life may be from a worldly perspective, Psalm 73:26-27 says, ”My flesh and my soul fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those who are far from you will perish; you will destroy all who forsake you. But my happiness is near God; I will put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all your works.”
When we have a living relationship with God, no one can take that away from us!
Everything earthly is perishable, but life in God never perishes!
”Yet I am always with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me in your counsel and take me to glory at the end. Who else would I have in heaven? And when you are with me, I will want nothing on earth.” Psalm 73:23-25
