Psalm 30:5 says, “For His (God’s) anger is but for a moment. His favour is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” What sorrows are you going through? Know that weeping does not last forever, and that joy will arrive when we cast ALL our burdens onto the Lord because “His favour lasts for a lifetime.”

Psalm 126:5-6 states, “Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” Here we notice that the farmer weeps while he sows, yet when harvest arrives, he rejoices with shouts of joy as he reaps his rewards. Sowing seeds of love, patience and kindness do not always produce immediate joy, but joy comes when the seeds take root and produce fruits of life. Don’t give up on those you pray for or minister to…in His time, our Lord will answer your prayers sown in loving sorrow and transpose them to exceeding joy. “For everything there is a season . . . a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” [Eccl. 3:1,4]

In John 16:20-22 Jesus told His disciples that just as a woman’s labour pains are turned to joy when she has delivered her baby, just so our sorrows will turn to joy when we’ll see Jesus, face to face in Eternity and “no one will take your joy from you.” And God Himself will be with us as our God. He will wipe away every tear from our eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. [Rev. 21:3-4]

Therefore “…we REJOICE in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” [Romans 5:3-5]

Precious Lord Jesus, thank You that You were a Man of sorrows who went through much pain, affliction, and heartaches on earth, for our sakes. Thank You that You understand our distresses and troubles, and that You promise to turn our sufferings into joy when we cast our burdens onto You. Thank You that You help us to rejoice amidst sorrow and pain, that You wipe our tears, comfort our hearts, and uplift us when we rest in Your Bosom of love. Amen
