MAKING ROOM FOR JESUS THIS CHRISTMAS

The world has taken Jesus out of Christmas by celebrating it in a secular, worldly manner. Sin and darkness fear light. Therefore Father God, the Creator of the Universe, performed a miracle to bring HIS Light into the world through the divine, miraculous birth of Jesus. When the virgin Mary questioned HOW it was possible for this to happen, the angel Gabriel replied, “Nothing is impossible for God.” (Luke 1:37) Do we truly believe that NOTHING is impossible for God?

God chose to break into human history by choosing a legal human father for His son who would be an heir of David and king of Israel. (Luke 1:26) In Rev. 22:16 Jesus said, “I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the Bright Morning Star.”

The miracle of Christmas used Father, Son AND Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came upon Mary and the power of the “Most High OVER-SHADOWED” her, to conceive the Son of God. (Luke 1:35) Psalm 17:8 reflects this prayer – “Keep/guard me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.”  Do we hide under Abba’s wings of love like Psalm 91 affirms, that we can “hide under His wings” and find refuge in Him? (V4)

Jesus’ throne would not be a human throne on earth, but His kingdom would have NO END. (Luke 1:33) Jesus would not be a prime minister or a president, or an earthly king, but a divine King – ruling over an unending, eternal kingdom. Our King Jesus has NO limit to:- His wisdom, His everlasting love, His power, His saving grace, His goodness and His forgiveness. King Jesus protects his subjects and rules with infinite compassion and mercy.

God never gave Mary and Joseph a choice as to what name they should give this Baby. They HAD to call Him “Jesus.” All over the world the name Jesus is used in hundreds of different languages and cultures. Jesus means “Saviour, God with us, Immanuel.” His rule and dominion will last forever and ever. We need to make space for Him, not only this Christmas, but always and forever!

Holy, Precious Father God, thank You for the miracle of Christmas, the miracle of Divine love, compassion and grace. Thank You for breaking into this world with humble tenderness, for sending Jesus to be born in a simple stable, to live among humans, to die for us. Please forgive us for losing sight of your holiness and your infinite sacrifice, for forgetting that You are King of kings and that Your kingdom has NO end. Thank You that Your loving protection is constantly watching over us and guarding us and like a mother hen watches over her chickens. Please continue moulding and pruning us, so that we can be more useful for You in Your Kingdom. We praise and thank You for allowing us to celebrate this Christmas under the cover of your wings.
