Psalm 65:11 states,” You CROWN the year with Your BOUNTY, and your carts OVERFLOW with ABUNDANCE.” Notice the great provision our God blesses us with. Psalm 65 is a harvest Psalm. The Israelites believed that God’s care for nature was a sign of His love, provision and blessings.

What are you MOST grateful for concerning the past years? A crown is a reward. Royalty wear crowns. 1 Peter 2:9 tells us that we “are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession…” A crown symbolizes authority and victory. God provides various kinds of crowns: – A crown of righteousness (2 Tim. 4:8), A crown of beauty (Isaiah 61:3), A crown of life (James 1:12), An Eternal crown (1 Cor. 9:25), A crown of glory (1 Peter 5:4) are just some of these glorious crowns. Isaiah 51:11 says, “…everlasting joy will CROWN their (Believer’s) heads.” We can fully enjoy God’s crowns because He gives them out of His heart which overflows with abundant love.

Psalm 65 continues- “The grasslands of the desert OVERFLOW, the hills are clothed with gladness…valleys shout with joy and sing…” Can you sense the great joy in these verses? Our Lord is indeed a God of abundance! It does not mean that we’ll receive more than enough money or provisions, or good health etc, but Abba Father supplies and gives us ENOUGH of what we need. We reap His abundant provision by walking in His paths, according to HIS purposes for us.

The Hebrew text for Psalm 65:11 reads “…the year of Thy goodness…” May we overflow with Christ’s abundant goodness, mercy, love and grace, SO THAT we can pass them onto others as well. We can rest assured that God provides all that we need. Philippians 4:19 reminds us – “And my God will supply EVERY need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Precious Father God, thank You that I do not need to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, I can let my requests be made known to You. (Phil. 4:6) Thank You that You can make all grace abound towards me, so that always having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, I may ABOUND in every good work (2 Cor. 9:8). I trust and believe in the promise in Psalm 37:25 – “I have been young, and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” Thank You dearest Lord, that You are very merciful towards me and that YOUR abundance becomes my abundance too, because You lavishly and lovingly pour out Your blessings upon me, in unrestrained generosity. I adore and love You! Amen
