Do you maybe feel overwhelmed? Are you maybe needing more time, more wisdom, more finances, better health, good relationships? Do you perhaps feel unsafe and insecure? Most times it is easy to first run to family, friends, the doctor, or to others before running to Jesus.

Prov. 18:10 says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous RUN to it and are safe.” Run to Jesus! Chase after Him. Spend time in His Word. Trust that He is patiently waiting for you to look to Him during hardships. Dedicate time to the Lord in prayer and worship. Give Him the chance to change the possibilities of the path before you.

Life becomes very difficult when we try to control it by ourselves, but when we hand the control over to Jesus, we have peace beyond understanding. We were never meant to be in control. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us that, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

Running to Jesus is like Paul wrote -> “I PRESS ON toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” [Phil. 3:14] We need to run this race with one purpose in mind – to meet Jesus face to face on day, to secure our place in our final heavenly destination.

Who is running with you at the same pace and with the same love and determination as you have? Surround yourself with people who will encourage you, love you and remind you of God’s plan and His love when life and anxiety trouble you. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

Precious Jesus, thank You that You lovingly care for each one of us. Thank You that when we run to You, You welcome us with open arms, to help us, to carry us, to sustain, direct, and mature us. You are our Safe Shelter. Help us to be useful for you. Amen.
