Part 5 – RIGHTEOUSNESS

“Blessed/happy and spiritually prosperous are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (a right standing with God) for they shall be satisfied.” Matt.5:6 AMPL

Questions: Are you totally satisfied and content with your life and circumstances? Is there something or someone you desire so much that you feel unfulfilled without it? Is Christ alone your deepest longing?

Synonyms for “satisfied” = fulfilled, content, pleased, happy, comforted.

Christ alone gives genuine, true satisfaction. No person, no amount of money, no beautiful home, no excellent work, no close relationships, or nice circumstances can give the same amount of blessed happiness, peace, joy, and fulfilment like our Good Shepherd Jesus can give!

“The righteous shall live by faith.” (Rom. 1:17) Abraham’s faith and obedience were counted to him as righteousness. (Rom.4:9 + Gal.3:6)

“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 14:17)

Thank You, precious Lord Jesus, that I can be clothed in Your righteousness and not my own. Thank You, that through your Holy Spirit presence in my life, that You lead me in the paths of righteousness. (Psalm 23:3) Thank You that I can “pursue righteousness, godliness and faith” (1 Tim.6:11) in the “strength of Christ’s righteousness.” (2 Cor. 5:21) Help me to die to sin and live unto Your righteousness. Amen

“But let justice run down like a river and righteousness like a mighty stream.” [Amos 5;24]
