What plans have you made for today, or for tomorrow, or for your future? Are you content and happy with the plans you make? Prov. 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose (plans) that prevails.”
We ALL would like to follow our Lord’s plans for our lives. His plans WILL happen when we trust Him, when we lean upon Him and seek Him, especially if we need to make important decisions. Many young people today seem uncertain about their futures. They try all sorts of things while seeking satisfaction, happiness, and significance in their lives.
WHAT ABOUT YOU? Are you fulfilled in your choices? Are you happy and pleased with the options you have chosen for your life? Jesus knows the way we need to take to bring about spiritual joy and success. When we follow His plans for our lives, we WILL succeed. Jonah ran away from God’s plans for his life and ended up in the belly of a huge fish. Noah followed God’s plans and he and his family were saved. Lot’s wife strayed from God’s purposes for her, and she turned into a pillar of salt. Joseph trusted in God’s designs for his life, and he became a ruler in Egypt. He was also enabled to forgive his brothers who tried to harm him. Samson failed to follow God’s plans and he lost his strength. Joshua followed God’s purposes faithfully and the walls of Jericho collapsed.
God’s plans will always work out for good when we trust and obey Him. But when we deviate (turn) from His intentions He has for us, we open ourselves to much sorrow and heartache. Prov. 3:5-8 -> “Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring healing to your body and refreshment/strength/nourishment to your bones.”
Precious Lord Jesus, please help me to trust you in ALL the circumstances in my life. Help me to realise that You can lovingly be in total control of every situation I fear or worry about. You give peace to us when we rest in You and not upon our own inclinations or desires. I love You and submit to Your plans and purposes for my life. Amen
