BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN

Around the world, much chaos and war is happening every day. Very
many people are mourning because of the loss of loved ones, homes, and
possessions. What are YOU mourning for right now?
Matt. 5:4 says, Blessed/Happy are they that mourn: for they shall be
comforted.” (Matt. 5:4) No one can comfort as well and thoroughly as
dear Lord Jesus. “He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows,
acquainted with deepest grief… [Isaiah 53:3] Jesus knew what it is like to
mourn – He wept over the sins of mankind, and He gave His very life for
us, on a painful Cross where He was agonizingly nailed, after almost first
being beaten to death. He KNOWS how to comfort us.

I clearly remember when my late husband died very suddenly and was
taken to heaven. It happened so quickly that it was difficult to grasp, but
for many years afterwards I daily read the Psalms and the book of Isaiah
which gave me great comfort. NOTHING can separate us from Father
God’s love. Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it
mean He no longer loves us if we have calamity, or are persecuted, or
hungry, or destitute, or in danger or threatened with death? No! Despite
all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved
us. (Romans 8:35-37)

Isaiah 61:2 assures us that Father God will comfort all those who mourn
or are troubled or distressed when they turn to Him for consolation. Jesus
says in John 16:22, I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.”
Always remember that Jesus is WITH US in our pain.

God uses our mourning and His comforting us, to help us to comfort
others who also mourn. “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who
comforts us in all our troubles, SO THAT we can comfort those in any
trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.” (2 Cor.
1:3-4)
Precious Father God, thank You so much that You tell us in Psalm 34:18 –
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted. He rescues those whose spirits
are crushed; Thank You that your loving heart embraces us when we
grieve or are sad. Thank You that You will never leave us nor forsake us
[Deut. 31:8], that even when we feel lonely, or forsaken – YOU are still
WITH US. Thank You for giving us the blessed Holy Spirit who is
constantly with us and strengthens us. Thank You that we can trust You in
ALL situations, and that Rom. 15:13 gives us joyful hope and states, “May
the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that
you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” We love You!
Amen
